What is a Long-Term Thematic Project (ptl)?

A PTL is designed to develop initiatives aimed primarily at the teams that make up its core division:

• To bring together, among the consortium’s research units based at the Montpellier site, a diverse range of research expertise aimed at fostering new frontiers in science and generating new knowledge;
• To implement, over the long term, a high-level scientific initiative, guided by a streamlined and effective governance structure, and capable of contributing to the development of a framework centered on the PTL’s core theme;
• Support education in and for research at the PhD master's levels.

The PTLS of the CHEMISTRY Cluster

The I-SITE program of excellence, led by the University of Montpellier, has decided to provide strong support for research by establishing Long-Term Thematic Projects (PTLs).

After consulting with our community, two PTLs in Chemistry emerged.

The first is in the field of sustainable chemistry for health (CARLA), and the second is in the field of sustainable chemistry for energy (CHIMENE).

The PTL positions in the Chemistry Research Cluster are part of the Cluster’s overall approach, which aims to implement an ambitious recruitment strategy designed to leverage other funding sources with high national and international visibility, in order to attract and train a new generation of
